The seldom seen kid?

I’m definitely aware that I’ve been neglecting writing for a while. With just weeks away from MBA graduation and moving in with Judi in a one bedroom apartment in Rego Park, things have been very hectic. Combine that with all the work, Passover seders, and Stanley Cup playoffs, I’ve not had much time to write about things such as how I got to meet Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, and the reason I got into business.
I haven’t gotten to write about the Pope’s visit to New York and how I managed to avoid it. I haven’t gotten to write about putting up blinds in an apartment. I haven’t gotten to write about the book I’m reading, Nassim Nicholas Taleb’s The Black Swan. I haven’t gotten to write about quarter-end at AllianceBernstein. I haven’t gotten to write about how I passed the online Jeopardy! audition. I haven’t gotten to write about presenting to the executives at KPMG nor Goodwill Industries. I haven’t gotten to write about the Kook’s new album, Konk. I haven’t gotten to write about the new Gnarls Barkley album, The Odd Couple. I haven’t gotten to write about why I like vintage posters (though I should eventually write a post about that). Oh, and I haven’t gotten to update the “about me” page on this site.
No, I haven’t gotten to write a lot of things. But I think when I get a couple of seconds, my next post might be on one of my new favourite albums of 2008. Yeah, Vampire Weekend is good. So is the new Roots album, Rising Up. But I think Elbow has one of the more solid, understated albums I’ve heard in a while, The Seldom Seen Kid.
Friday at lunch, I got a chance to see the band perform at Virgin Megastore at Union Square. Some pictures are at Picasa, and I also put a couple of clips on my YouTube page. For the first time in nearly a year, I think I might need to write a review for this one. After all, I wouldn’t want people to think that I’m the seldom seen kid…

I have not checked smalrus.com in ages but studying exams leads to internet roaming, which leads to “I wonder if Spencer is still running his site… he probably is… or is he?… ya he probably is, I’ll just keep studying… nah, I’d better check to make sure.”
The point is – 10 years of Smalrus is a lot of smalrus. I also did not realize that you and Judi were engaged but since you moved in together it makes perfect sense. Congratulations!
(and go habs go)
I was going to say, I figured since it’s been about a month and a half since I last updated, probably no one knew if I was updating. This past semester has been crazy busy between engagement (which I’m not sure how you missed… it was practically all over the place), moving in, schoolwork, etc.
So at least I updated again to let the people who don’t read my site anymore know that I never forget about my site, I just don’t get to update with the frequency at which I used to update.
