19/10/04(725pm)- Flag the alarm, its an "October Surprise". Bin Laden is in China. the original article as written in El Mundo (in spanish). an article teaser...
"During the home stretch of the Northamerican elections, Osama bin Laden could prove to be the ace in the sleeve of president Bush. As we speak, Washington is negotiating a highly secretive agreement with Beijing, the Chinese capital, for the eviction of bin Laden from his sanctuary in the turbulent Muslim provinces of China, in the Northwest of the Great Wall nation.
More than five million people, many of them fanatic followers of Osama, live in that region, which can be called one of the most volatile regions of Earth. Thousands of them work for the mafias who specialize in the trafficking of humans and drugs to the West. Last summer, Bin Laden sealed an agreement with the authorities in Beijing, in which he was granted asylum in return for his guarantees that the guerilla war of the Muslim Chinese against the Chinese nation would end."
no way will kerry win after that. no way. works gotten better although its still too long on my feet. and i need a haircut. lets see what else. last week's open mic was good. i debuted the new song i wrote for judi and it sounded really good, especially for the first time. looking forward to play it for her sometime. not much else happened during the week, but on friday we went out with andrew and carrie to friendlys for some ice cream and then came back to watch the wallace and gromit special features. went back to uconn and spent the weekend there. was a really lovely weekend, went to dinner at angelinos with her parents and her brother, went to her friends birthday party, walked to the pond, went to the dining hall with her several times and met some more of her friends.... it was just good, relaxing and pleasurable all around to spend the whole weekend with her. and for anyone who didnt see her picture, heres my beautiful girl. watched some of the baseball games. work tiring, dont know what else i wanted to say. i want my rolling stone job already. :-S one month from today til the spongebob movie!

11/10/04(1155am)- happy thanksgiving!!!! well my physical went okay even though they had to go 3 times to get a vein to draw blood. watched the 3rd party presidential candidates debate. im really leaning towards voting libertarian, but im having a tough time reconciling whether a vote for a third party is a vote for bush, like it was with nader in 2000. how do you be selfish for changing the country as opposed to voting for what you believe in even if that doesnt change the country. went to uconn last night. we didnt get to end up doing the corn maze or going out really cause judi had a meeting soooo.... voila, here i am again. *RIP* Christopher Reeve a.k.a. the man of steel

08/10/04(105am)- im tired, today was a wiping day at work, going to bed late and getting up early has been crappy. why couldnt the bank open at 10 instead? first day in the branch was decent, i worked til around 2ish. vp debate of interest, tomorrow night's prez debate should be interesting too. and in keeping up with my canadian politics... mr martin faces near non-confidence vote, but a mere 2 days after the throne speech. he thought he didnt need a coalition, he thought he could pull through... barely. i knew this was coming, it was a matter of when. its just funnier that it happened 2 days after the speech. mr martin, you are a sad sad man, we hardly knew ye (or maybe knew ye too much for our own good).

05/10/04(135am)- Rumsfeld doubts Saddam-Laden link
By Justin Webb
BBC correspondent in Washington
US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has cast doubt on whether there was ever a relationship between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda.
The alleged link was one of the justifications used by President Bush for the invasion of Iraq.
In front of an audience in New York, Mr Rumsfeld was asked about connections between Saddam and Osama Bin Laden. "To my knowledge, I have not seen any strong, hard evidence that links the two," he said.
No proof
Donald Rumsfeld's off-the-cuff comments are often very revealing.
If he really meant what he said, it suggests that the Bush administration is in the process of retreating from previously held positions.
When asked about the putative link during a session at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, defence secretary said: "I have seen the answer to that question migrate in the intelligence community over a period of a year in the most amazing way."
In the past, Mr Rumsfeld has spoken of credible information about a link and Vice President Dick Cheney regularly goes further and talks of Saddam Hussein having provided safe harbour and sanctuary for al-Qaeda.
The idea that Saddam Hussein was a supporter of terrorism has been one of the key justifications used by the administration for his removal.

04/10/04(705pm)- not much gone on in the past couple days. went with judi to see shark tale. so so movie. lacked a lot in plot, even if the animation was good. i guess the good vs. bad computer animated movies are starting to come into their own... saturday afternoon i went to monroe with judi to meet her parents. it was nice, her parents were really nice, a lot like my own. her dad was a riot, namely cause he reminds me of my dad. went to dinner with them at this place called country's. oh and i got the 5 min tour of monroe, including the auto store and the police/firestation/library/hospital/elementary school bulding. yesterday i mostly sat around the house and washed the car and today was the 3rd bank training in 4 years. it was boring as hell.
i saw this advertisement on tv. i thought it was a campaign ad, but it was an ad for the aclu. everyone should look at this ad and do what they can to stop PATRIOT ACT II. its bad enough PATRIOT ACT I violates the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments, stripping us of speech, allowing for search and seizure, and detainment without cause. we all want to be the land of the free and home of the brave, but goddamn if we'll allow "terror" to debase what liberties we can and cant have. good news...i know when my website is being read. hope the fbi doesnt mind me speaking my mind. learn what else you can do to keep america safe AND free.

30/09/04(955pm)- he's flountering. george w. bush is floundering. its hard work. iraq is hard work. the war on terror is hard work. we get it, its hard work! but its not work if youre not doing your job. im sorry, im still unsure whether my vote is cast for kerry just because he's not bush, however looking at bush himself, he's ill-prepared, can't speak, deflects questions and cant speak without sstuddering. a debate on style, not substance, but bush is lacking in his usual style and charisma. both men have never lost debates, but bush isnt showing any skill as a debater, regardless of whether he knows how to think on his feet or not.

28/09/04(630pm)- i just picked up the new interpol album, antics. and while it's good, im starting to think i should have got brian wilson's smile. they're saying if it was released 37 years ago, that it would have possibly eclipsed what sgt pepper's would have done.
things going okay. went to an aepi frat party saturday night with judi. was rather boring, we left after a half hour. yesterday i made fresh psghetti and sauce. was good. i got the job offer from human resources. i start orientation tomorrow morning and start training on monday. for 13$ a year, i think im gonna get a subscription to harper's. tomorrow open mic. friday maybe shark tale. saturday i might be going to monroe with judi. lifes otherwise uninspiring. or boring. im having a problem with brand names and all this synergy crap. no logo is really starting to inspire. i just wish it wasnt so invasive that my life couldnt revolve around brands anymore. its not possible to cut brands out of our lives. its impossible to remove the corporations, whether its the tv we watch, the books we buy, or the food we eat. grrrrrr.

25/09/04(245pm)- l'shanah tovah to everyone as we wind down with another 5 hours left of the fast. at this rate though im having no problems with it. i just heard some interesting news actually. ever since he retired, grampa has gotten big into his geneaology, working with the mormons and everything to find out where hes from. so he just took a trip to the baltics with aunt betsy and it turns out that the rosenbloom family is from latvia, not lithuania like he always thought. meaning im polish-latvian. i think its kinda cool.
not much been going on the past couple of days, been hanging out with judi quite a bit, which is great because with her in school me having to launch invasion forces and vice versa, its nice that this thing can still work. i felt bad though, i had her and her roommate melanie come out on wednesday to see me at open mic except keith the bartender asked them for ids so they had to leave. and they werent even at the bar! anyways, i felt bad about that cause i wanted her to see me and i didnt mean for them to go all the way to manchester for nothing, but there was nothing i could do... keith was just covering his ass. but my first two songs came out really well. they were the originals. i then attempted an umphrey's mcgee cover, however i just printed it up during the day and so i didnt practice and it was horrible. utterly horrible. made me wish i did my two and do em well and end on a high note. but we'll see what next wed brings...
nathan offered me a position at his branch and hopefully it'll allow me to become a senior teller [supervisor] so ill also get to work with kris, who will also be a senior teller. meaning ive got room for vertical growth and the possibility of new alliance helping pay for my masters? we'll see though. atleast its a job right now.

20/09/04(315pm)- this is how much i rule. the 10 finalists for the shortlist of music were announced today. i got 6 of 10. however, wilco was an oversight, so it should have been 7/10. thats how hip i am to where music is really at. these are the bands on m2, not mtv.
1) Air's "Talkie Walkie" 2) Dizzee Rascal's "Boy in Da Corner" 3) Franz Ferdinand's "Franz Ferdinand" 4) Ghostface Killah's "The Pretty Toney Album" 5) The Killers' "Hot Fuss" 6) Loretta Lynn's "Van Lear Rose" 7) Nellie McKay's "Get Away From Me" 8) The Streets' "A Grand Don't Come for Free" 9) TV On The Radio's "Desparate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes" 10) Wilco's "A Ghost Is Born"
im watching punk'd and theyre punking justin timberlake. i have to say, this is a funny. justin timberlake has way too many cars and shit. they should have held out longer before they told him he was punkd. thinking of doing csr at new alliance, we'll see whats going down with that. got the daily show book. funny stuff. i love political satire. why? cause it exposes all the faults of american government and culture in a funny manner and yet is considered humour, not dissent.
